August 31, 2011 - According to the motorcycle injury lawyers at Ehline Law Firm PC in California, the victim of a fatal Tuesday night motorcycle crash in Utah, has been identified as Utah Assistant Attorney General Peter Rognlie.
According to Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, the Tuesday evening motorcycle crash that Rognlie was killed in was a collision involving a car that occurred on 700 East when he was riding his motorcycle. Rognlie was nicknamed Rocky and had handled both criminal and civil cases during the 12 years that he worked at the Attorney General’s Office. According to A.G. Shurtleff the nickname Rocky fit perfectly, since he was committed to justice and handled some of the most difficult cases in the office and he will be missed.
According to the General Attorney’s Office Criminal Appeals Division Chief Laura Dupaix, the Assistant Attorney General “Rocky” had a good sense of humor and was approached often for his insightful advice. Rognlie joined the Attorney General’s Office in 1999 and attended the University of Utah College of Law in 1983 and began his career working as a prosecutor in Washington, Iron and Utah Counties.
Rognlie was a volunteer and donor at the Fourth Street Clinic and A.G. liaison for the Third District Court and the Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee for Professionalism, who was fair and showed kindness to others, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
The fatal motorcycle accident caused 700 East to be closed, after the collision with what witnesses state was a purple car that struck the motorcycle at 700 East 900 South. The deadly motorcycle accident remains under investigation, according to the police.
