August 1, 2011 - According to reports a Newport Beach police officer was injured in a collision Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol the collision occurred at approximately 10:44 a.m. in the vicinity of San Joaquin Hills Road and Jamboree Road. The collision involved a Newport Beach police officer injured on a motorcycle and a late model silver BMW four-door.
According to Newport Beach Police Lt. Rob Morton the officer involved in the collision was transported to Hoag Hospital with a minor leg injury and for evaluation. The details of how the motorcycle collision occurred are not available while the accident is being investigated.
