May 3, 2011 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a motorcycle rider was killed in a crash on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim.
According to California Highway Patrol the crash occurred at approximately 7:46 a.m. on the 91 Freeway, in the vicinity north of Imperial Highway.
California Highway Patrol Officer Denise Quesada stated that the crash involved a silver BMW and a motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the BMW causing it to flip down in the toll lanes.
The motorcycle rider was transported to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana where he later died.
A SigAlert that was issued for the FasTrak lanes was canceled at approximately 9:00 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol a crash occurred in the eastbound 91 Freeway at approximately 8:39 a.m. in the eastbound lanes in vicinity of the connector to the northbound 57 Freeway.
The incident involved a delivery truck that lost a rear wheel and began scrapping the guardrail causing it to catch fire.
According to CHP officer Denise Quesada firefighters had to put the fire out and the delivery truck was completely engulfed in flames. Officers blocked westbound traffic underneath the overpass as a precaution.
