Two Separate Crashes Moped and Motorcycle -- Moped Rider Sustains Major Injuries

January 24, 2011-According to reports a moped and motorcycle crash occurred in two separate accidents occurred Monday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol there were two Monday morning accidents, one involving a motorcycle and one involving a moped. The rider of the moped sustained major injuries.

The moped rider was involved in a collision with a white Ford F-150 at approximately 7:56 a.m. in the vicinity of La Pata Avenue, south of Ortega Highway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Denise Quesada.

The second a motorcycle accident occurred at approximately 8:26 a.m. in the vicinity of Jeffery Road on northbound I-5. The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital after a collision with another vehicle, according to CHP Officer Quesada.

The riders condition and identity have not been released and there was a SigAlert No. 1, 2, 3 and the carpool lanes in the vicinity of Jeffery Road. The SigAlert was cancelled at 9:07 a.m.
