October 8, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a hit and run crash was responsible for fatally injuring a motorcycle rider.
According to the Downey police the hit and run accident occurred on Florence Avenue and Paramount Boulevard.
The accident involved a 23 year old Huntington Park motorcyclist and a pickup truck. The truck was traveling east on Florence Avenue at the time of the crash and ran a red light.
The Huntington Park resident was transported to Downey Regional Medical Center where the rider later died from the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the truck fled after the collision, but was arrested shortly after for alleged felony driving under the influence.
The 23 year olds Huntington Park residents identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
