Aerosmith’s Joe Perry Injured in Motorcycle Crash

July 16, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports guitarist Joe Perry of Aerosmith was injured in a motorcycle crash and treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Perry was struck from behind on his 2009 Ducati Monster 696 Thursday, by a 62 year old woman according to reports. Perry’s son Tony wrote on his Twitter page that he found out his dad was ok and home after being rear ended on his motorcycle. According to the Twitter report Perry’s other son Aaron was also on the motorcycle, but was not injured.

According to the police both Perry and the 62 year old woman were traveling at slow speeds prior to the motorcycle accident, and the woman was cited with following the motorcycle too closely. Perry a Massachusetts native according to reports sustained minor injuries in the crash and is said to still be able to tour with Aerosmith in their upcoming United States summer tour. The scheduled tour dates will be the first set of tours the band is doing, since lead singer Steven Tyler fell of a stage braking his shoulder.
