Highway 14 Motorcycle Crash Sends Los Angeles Police Officer To The Hospital

According to reports by motorcycle accident lawyers Los Angeles, a Saturday afternoon motorcycle crash on Highway 14 sent a Los Angeles Police Officer to the hospital with injuries.

According to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Rick Miler the Los Angeles Police officer who has been identified as Sheldon Williams was going to work at the time of the accident and riding between traffic that was backed up. The accident occurred in the vicinity of Highway 14 north of San Fernando Road, the traffic backup was due to a previous accident that occurred in that vicinity.

Sgt. Miller stated that while the accident is under investigation and there are no witnesses that remained at the scene they believe that officer Williams collided with one vehicle after it pulled out of the carpool lane hitting Williams’s motorcycle. This caused the motorcycle to go out of control where he then struck three other vehicles and when down on the asphalt.

Other drivers involved in the accident made statements, Jackie Sneed stated she was on her way to Los Angeles and sitting in her vehicle stopped in traffic when she heard something hit the Chevrolet Avalanche she was driving. When she got out of the vehicle she saw the officer lying on the ground and told him to lie still and not move. Another of the vehicles involved was driven by Sandra Retana who heard a loud noise and saw the motorcycle coming toward her vehicle. The officer was no longer on the motorcycle when it struck this vehicle.

Officer Williams injuries included a deep laceration to his foot and he was transported by ambulance to the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

The California Highway Patrol, the Los Angeles Police Department and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene of the accident, along with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

There were no other reports of injuries at the scene of the accident from any of the other motorists involved in the accident.

Highway 80 Scene Of Fatal Motorcycle Crash

According to reports by motorcycle injury lawyers Los Angeles, a fatal motorcycle crash is being investigated as a possible hit and run motorcycle accident.

The motorcycle crash occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Highway 80 according to the California Highway Patrol in unincorporated Solano County in the vicinity of Vallejo.

The California Highway Patrol stated the motorcyclist had collided with the center divider or with another vehicle on the eastbound side of Highway 80 west of American Canyon Road.

They also reported the motorcyclist was transported from the scene of the crash to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The name of the deceased rider has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.

Motorcycle Officer Injured In Bike Accident

According to reports by motorcycle accident lawyers Los Angeles, a Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputy whose name has not been released was involved in a weekend motorcycle accident in the vicinity of State Route 113 and Highway 99 in the Rancho Cordova area of California.

According to police statements the accident occurred at approximately 11:30 while the officer was on his way to work. After the accident the highway was closed and traffic diverted to the Garden Highway, while the motorcycle accident scene was investigated.

The officer who was injured in the motorcycle accident was transported to the hospital where another officer stated the injuries were significant, but they were not life threatening.

This is the second motorcycle accident within the past month, when a Rancho Cordova motorcycle officer identified as Larry Canfield age 43 was killed while in pursuit of a speeding vehicle. The fatal accident occurred when a vehicle driven by a 79 year old dirver pulled out at the intersection of Coloma Road and Chardonnay Drive.

Pedestrian Struck By Motorcycle Killed

According to pedestrian accident lawyers in Los Angeles and California Highway Patrol Officer Sylvia Mosley a pedestrian identified as 22 year old Nicholas Angel Rodriguez and a resident of Corona was struck and killed by a motorcycle.

The accident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on River Road where Rodriguez was walking north and was struck by an approaching motorcycle identified as a Yamaha FJR. The rider of the motorcycle was identified as Samuel Houston age 45 of Corona.

According to the Riverside Coroners Office, Rodriguez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident approximately a half hour after the accident took place.

The rider of the Yamaha, Samuel Houston sustained minor injuries and was transported to Riverside Community Hospital from the scene of the accident according to Officer Mosley.

210 Freeway Landing Pad For Helicopter After Motorcycle Accident

According to statements by California Highway Patrol Officer Anthony Martin and corroborated by motorcycle injury lawyers in Los Angeles, traffic on the 210 Freeway was closed after an accident involving a motorcycle and a van in the westbound lanes.

Officer Martin stated the 210 Freeway was closed one quarter of a mile in each direction at approximately 6:45 a.m. for a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter to land to transport one of the accident victims of the accident to the hospital. Another of the accident victims was transported to the hospital by an ambulance. The 210 Freeway was reopened ay approximately 8:02 a.m. during the closing of the traffic resulted in over a one mile gridlock in the westbound and eastbound lanes.

The collision between the motorcycle and van occurred in the vicinity of the Vernon Avenue exit in the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway.
